Thirty for Three

Notes: This fic is set post-manga, in March 2038. Sara is 54 and Setsuna 55. At some point in the past decade, they moved back from Nagasaki to Tokyo since their parents are both dead now (father from a heart attack, mother from pancreatic cancer) and they're not that worried about hiding anymore. In terms of internal series continuity, it falls between Babies and "If it wasn't you..."

I wrote the first half of this story in 2008 and the second half in 2011, but only got around to the last few paragraphs yesterday. I therefore suspect the ending is a bit rushed; if you have any suggestions for smoothing it out, please tell me! (1,900 words)

Notes: This fic is set post-manga, in autumn of 2015; Setsuna is 32 and Sara is 31. It falls between "Clouds" and "If Only," neither of which are finished yet. (Possibly more helpfully, it falls after Fluffy Things, in which Setsuna and Sara assume a second set of false identities and move to Nagasaki.)

I originally meant this to be more humorous, but I got sidetracked by the complexities of reincarnation and then it took me forever and a day to wind it back to the point of the prompt, as you can tell by the wordcount. I would also like to note that no actual babies appear in this story. *wry*

Notes: The main plot of this ficlet is set post-manga, in very late 2007. The flashbacks run from shortly after the First Holy War to shortly before Setsuna's birth, and are not all in chronological order. Setsuna is 24; Sara is 23. This falls between Talking Over Distance and "Looking" (which I have not yet finished).

It took me about three years to write this, mostly because I was never quite sure where it was going. I am still not quite sure it all hangs together logically, but whatever.

(I am also minus several thousand words of justification for the eventual threesome, which I have tried to make up for a little bit, but I think I may end up writing a sidestory at some point to explain that mess. Or I may shoehorn some of it into "If It Wasn't You...")

This story is fairly heavy on internal continuity -- it references the Sailor Pluto joke from "Surprise," Sara and Setsuna's conversation from "Hidden," and, of course, Kira and Setsuna's 'experiment' from Kisses, a mortal pre-manga ficlet.

Belial is referred to as Mad Hatter, and 'he,' since that's how Setsuna first met hir. (There's another reason as well, but that explanation is for another ficlet. *grin*)

Note: This ficlet is set just a few months pre-manga, in late March or early April of 1999. I am assuming, despite their almost total lack of canon interaction, that Sara and Kira were friends of sorts, though not nearly as close to each other as Setsuna was to either of them. (This is based on the familiarity of their brief interaction in vol. 1, and the way Sara instinctively denies, much later on, that Kira would ever betray Setsuna -- to me, that implies that she knows and trusts him.)
